No matter how far away we go, we’ll always feel a connection to the place from which we came. In this spirit, In This Together Cambria is proud to announce a new initiative we’re calling Because It’s Home.

Because It’s Home features notable former Cambria County residents reinforcing mask wearing, physical distancing, hand washing, and other mitigation efforts along with messages of support to their hometowns across the county.

Special Message from Frances Hesselbein

Growing up in Johnstown, big coal, big steel, surrounded by the mountains of Western Pennsylvania is part of who I am.

To all the residents of Johnstown and the greater Cambria County Area — we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. We’re almost there. For the safety of our neighbors and loved ones, we need to continue wearing a mask, practicing social distancing, and washing our hands. I also encourage everyone to get vaccinated when possible to protect ourselves and to protect those around us. It’s a safe and effective way to accelerate our return to normal.

Let’s look forward to a better future by reducing the spread of this deadly disease. We just need to hold on a bit longer.
