New initiative “Because It’s Home” launches February 10

As part of our mission to continue advocating for pandemic mitigation efforts across the county, In This Together Cambria proudly announces our new “Because It’s Home” campaign.

The “Because It’s Home” campaign will feature notable former Cambria County residents reinforcing mask wearing, physical distancing, hand washing, and other mitigation efforts along with messages of support to their hometowns in the county.

“Cambria County boasts a wealth of exceptional former residents across many fields,” said ITTC organizer Ashlee Kiel. “From athletes to scholars to authors to politics, those who call our county home have made indelible marks on our culture and society. We’re thrilled to have so many of these accomplished individuals helping us reach out as we work to curb the spread of this virus in the communities they once called home.”

The first three participants in the initiative are:

  • Mark Singel, lieutenant governor of Pennsylvania from 1987-1995
  • Dana Heinze, equipment manager for the Pittsburgh Penguins
  • Andrew Hawkins, retired NFL wide receiver (Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns)

The videos will be premiered on In This Together Cambria Facebook Page, as well as on www.inthistogethercambria.com, every Wednesday beginning on February 10.
